I didn't feel like I knew enough about any of the characters save the main character, Cassi, and characters would reappear a couple chapters after int An OK book, godplayef not one of Cook's best. I highly recommend this to people who love murder mysteries, medical fiction, or want a reminder of how much easier it is today to deal with an illness such as diabetes.

The characters are just awful, so far the plot is going nowhere and the writing is just plain bad. Although this book ended up being fairly predictable, it was suspenseful, and I couldn't put it down. Given that it is one of the first written by him, it was not bad--books that were written later had a bit more character in the character, and it do not feel like some people where just thrown into the storyline.

In each of his novels, he strives to write about the issues at the forefront of current medical practice. It was convincing and tied up all the loose ends.
When you read his early stuff in particular, such as this novel, you discover that he is not only an asshole, but also incredibly chauvinistic. Paperbackpages. Pathologists know everything and do godplxyer but too late. There is always at least one character in the book that my imagination tells me is really Robin Cook.

This is some of Robin Cook's early writing. Look, it is not godpayer terrible book. Then eye-patched Cassi is being terrorized in her post-op hospital room she smells Thomas' cologne!
